Cash flow Insights

Overview

Cash Flow Insights give you a complete, normalised view of money flowing in and out of an applicant's accounts over time. Built from Open Banking connections and uploaded Bank Statements, Sikoia consolidates every account under an entity into a single, consistent cash flow view, so you can assess affordability, verify income, and spot risk from one clean source of truth.

Access account details, balances, and categorised transactions for every connected account and processed statement through Sikoia's Banking API, across both open banking and bank statement data.

Categorisation on or off

Cash Flow Insights can be delivered with categorisation off or on, depending on how much enrichment you need:

  • Categorisation off: a clean, normalised list of every transaction across the applicant's accounts and statements, with full transaction detail (date, description, amount, account). The complete cash flow, ready for you to apply your own logic.
  • Categorisation on: every transaction is automatically classified into income, essential expenditure, and non-essential expenditure, with categories and subcategories, giving you a structured cash flow breakdown with no manual tagging. See the full taxonomy here.

Take the raw transaction stream, the fully categorised view, or both.

Built for real-world applications

Cash Flow Insights are designed to handle the complexity of real lending applications, not just single, simple accounts:

  • Consumer and business produce transaction lists and cash flow views for both personal and business accounts.
  • Multiple bank statements consolidate several statements for the same account into one continuous, gap-free cash flow.
  • Dual and joint applications combine the accounts of every applicant on an application into a single consolidated view at the case level.
  • Complex consumer and business cases bring multiple accounts, mixed personal and business activity, and joint applicants together under one entity.

How it works

  1. Create a case and add the relevant person or company entities.
  2. Add transaction data by uploading bank statements and/or creating open banking connections.
  3. Retrieve account details, balances, and transactions, raw or categorised from affordability through Sikoia's Banking API.

📘

Cash Flow Insights share the same underlying data sources as Banking API, Affordability Insights and Completeness Checks, so transaction data you've already shared for a case is instantly reusable across all three.
